Webinar 1 — Depression: Diagnosis, Care and Treatment
-
The number of youth needing acute mental health treatment has increased as children and teens try to adapt to all the changes in their environment, peer support levels, and daily routines. Many have struggled to cope with feelings of loneliness, sadness, and hopelessness. In this webinar, we provide information about how children experience depression and offer insights into the clinical care for depression symptoms, including psychotropic medication management.
Webinar 2 — Anxiety: Diagnosis, Care and Treatment
-
There has been an uptick in anxiety-related disorders in children and teens in recent years. This has led to the need for more creative and innovative ways to engage with and treat youth while cultivating an environment of safety that allows them to work through fears and establish healing spaces. In this webinar, we share insights and techniques for providing care to youth who are struggling with anxiety related to trauma exposure and identify successful treatment strategies.
Webinar 3 — ADHD: Diagnosis, Misdiagnosis, Care and Treatment
-
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is the most common diagnosis youth share. However, one important question always persists: As medical and psychiatric professionals, how can we be sure that what we are observing are the symptoms of ADHD and not a youth experiencing a trauma response? In this webinar, we discuss the difference in symptoms and behaviors for ADHD and trauma response and the implications in a child’s treatment plan. We identify common medications and behavioral interventions, as well as the wide variety of symptoms and commonly overlooked presentations of this disorder.
